What the day is like

We leave the cove early and come back when the water allows. The exact hour is set by the day's tide, not by the clock.

6 hours Of fishing

That is the session. The departure time is set around the turn of the tide, which is when the fish feed.

3 anglers At most

The boat goes out for your group alone. It is never shared with an outside group.

No experience Is fine too

The guide sets up the tackle, teaches the cast and works with you all day. We provide the gear.

Where we fish

The Queule cove sits at the mouth of the Queule river, in the commune of Toltén. It is La Araucanía's main fishing cove and the only one with direct sea access connected to Isla Los Pinos. From there we work the river mouth, the rocky shallows and the surface schools.

  1. 1
    The river mouth

Where the Queule meets the sea. On a spring tide the current drags the bait through and the chinook feeds.

  2. 2
    The rocky shallows

Off the point, south of the bay. Rocky bottom: kingklip, croaker, and the chinook working along the coast.

  3. 3
    The surface schools

Offshore, over the bay. Snoek and rayfish on the surface; trolling and spinning water.

Cartography by OpenStreetMap. The marked areas are indicative: which one we work on a given day is decided by the tide and the sea state. We depart from Avenida Costanera 260, Queule. Not a nautical or navigation chart.
